  • Abbott awards $1.9M for school career training
    Gov. Greg Abbott announced seven Jobs & Education for Texans (JET) grants totaling $1.93 million for Northeast Texas schools. The money will fund welding, nursing, and other technical training programs, aiming to better align students with workforce needs in the region.
  • $8.5M in veteran service grants to help Central Texans
    The state awarded more than $8.5 million to 35 veteran service organizations across Central Texas. The funding will support housing, transportation, and mental health programs, with Abbott emphasizing that Texas “leads the nation” in veteran support initiatives.
