WASHINGTON — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement deported several criminal illegal aliens with histories including gang affiliation, kidnapping, and burglary, according to a release from the Department of Homeland Security.
Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said ICE deported criminal illegal aliens that include pedophiles, kidnappers, burglars, and gang members, adding that the agency removes criminals from American communities every day. Bis pointed to declining national crime rates, saying the murder rate is projected to fall to a 126-year low.
The deportations included Moises Gutierez, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico and member of the Paisas gang, whose criminal history includes convictions for driving under the influence of liquor and illegal re-entry, along with arrests for sex offenses against a child, including fondling and sexual assault by sodomy.
Also deported was Jorge Barrientos-Amaya, a criminal illegal alien from Costa Rica, convicted of cocaine smuggling and marijuana possession.
Omar Montes-Hernandez, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico, was deported following convictions for burglary, larceny, and illegal re-entry.
Pedro Gomez-Diaz, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico, was deported with a criminal history that includes convictions for aggravated assault with a gun, robbery, and kidnapping, along with arrests for domestic violence and illegal re-entry.
Jose De Jesus Zumba Pesantez, a criminal illegal alien from Ecuador, was deported following a conviction for assault.
DHS noted that arrests listed above reflect charges brought against these individuals and are not, by themselves, proof of guilt beyond the convictions specifically identified in each case.
