AUSTIN — Attorney General Ken Paxton announced progress on the statewide distribution of more than 7 million free eggs secured through antitrust settlements with three national egg producers, according to a release from the Office of the Attorney General. More than 1.7 million eggs have already reached Texas food banks, with another 5.322 million scheduled for delivery in the coming weeks.
In June 2026, Paxton secured settlements with Cal-Maine Foods, Centrum/Versova, and Hickman’s Egg Ranch, resolving antitrust claims brought by the Trump administration’s Department of Justice and other state attorneys general. According to the release, those claims stemmed from an alleged conspiracy to inflate egg prices between 2022 and 2025. Under the settlements, the companies agreed to donate 7 million eggs to Texas food banks and pay a combined $3.3 million to participating states.
Paxton said that after securing 7 million eggs for Texans, he’s excited that families across the state will now have the opportunity to receive cartons of free eggs in their own communities. He said he’ll continue working to help Texas families put food on the table and do everything within his power to lower prices for people struggling to make ends meet.
The deliveries are being coordinated in partnership with Feeding Texas, the state’s largest hunger-relief organization, with 17 food banks participating statewide. Here’s the full breakdown by city:
