Welcome to the Dallas International Film Festival, an event that has been running since 2006. DIFF 2024 is a worldwide adventure that showcases the premiere screenings of new films, thought-provoking documentaries, and captivating short films. It also offers filmmaker panels and nightly red carpet events, along with special events, activations, and hubs where filmmakers, screenwriters, film industry leaders, celebrities, sponsors, and audiences can come together to celebrate and discuss film.
The Dallas International Film Festival is a unique occasion that brings together Dallas and the global community to honor the art of filmmaking. Since its inception, the festival has become a hub for storytellers and audiences to connect and share in the experience of film as a community. In pursuing its mission, the festival is dedicated to:

- Supporting and showcasing diverse, emerging, and underrepresented voices by curating a wide range of cinematic expressions.

At DIFF 2024, the red carpet was filled with films and documentaries centered around western themes, including the notable documentary “LANE: Life | Legend | Legacy.”
This documentary tells the story of Lane Frost, a cowboy who lived a life that became legendary and left an enduring impact on the sport of rodeo and western culture. His legacy continues to influence the sport and culture even today. Lane Frost’s story was also previously depicted in the famous Hollywood film 8 Seconds.
These western-themed films and documentaries brought a distinct flair to the festival, celebrating the rich history and tradition of the western lifestyle.
Five aggies, Cory Cotton ‘10, Coby Cotton ‘10, Garrett Hilbert ‘10 (Environmental Design), Cody Jones ‘10, and Tyler Toney ‘10 will be recognized at the Dallas International Film Festival (DIFF) on April 25 for their documentary “Dude Perfect: A Very Long Shot.” @DudePerfect
Another notable film featured at DIFF 2024 was Viggo Mortensen’s “The Dead Don’t Hurt,” which he both directed and wrote about two pioneers as they fight for the survival of their lives and their love on the American frontier during the Civil War. IMDB
