Forget the mall—the Stark Museum of Art in Orange is bringing actual reindeer to its courtyard this Saturday, and you need to mark your calendar right now.
Here’s What’s Happening
On November 22, the museum is hosting Reindeer Games Day with live reindeer hanging out in Santa’s traveling stable, holiday crafts, an interactive art-making station, and a scavenger hunt that’ll keep your crew entertained for hours. And get this—it’s completely FREE. This is the museum’s second year bringing back this beloved holiday tradition after drawing over 1,400 visitors last year.
The museum’s entire building has been transformed into a winter wonderland for the special Reindeer Trail Exhibition, featuring 45 one-of-a-kind reindeer created by artists from Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana. These aren’t your typical decorations either—they’re covered in vibrant colors, wild themes, and twinkling lights that’ll make your kids’ eyes light up. You can also wander through the museum’s galleries to see historical artwork of reindeer and their cousins (moose, elk, and deer) alongside masterpieces by artists like Frederic Remington and Georgia O’Keeffe.
Here’s the best part: If your family includes anyone who gets overwhelmed by crowds, there’s a Sensory Hour from 9:00 to 10:00 AM with a quieter environment. Perfect for a calmer experience before things get busy.
