Mark your calendar. Saturday, December 6 at 6:00 PM, the City of Dayton is throwing the Spirit of Christmas Parade and you’ve got to be there.

This isn’t some quick drive-by. This is the event that officially kicks off the holiday season in Dayton. Lights. Music. Local floats. Santa. Everything you need to get your family in the holiday spirit.

What’s Coming Down the Street

Expect to see parade floats decked out in lights, local organizations celebrating the season, marching bands, and all the Christmas magic you can handle. This is the kind of small-town tradition that makes the holidays feel real—where neighbors line the streets together, kids get excited, and everyone leaves talking about it for weeks.

Where to Be

The parade rolls through downtown Dayton. Get there early and stake out your spot. Bring a chair, bring a blanket, bring the whole crew. This is a street-level celebration, so you’re right there in the action.

Bring the Whole Family

Kids love this. Adults love this. Grandparents love this. It’s the kind of night where everyone’s happy—no arguments about where to go or what to do. You’re all there watching the same parade, soaking up the same holiday atmosphere, making memories that stick around.

Get Your Camera Ready

This is the night to get those family photos with the holiday spirit in the background. The lights, the floats, the decorations—it’s all prime photo territory. You’ll want to remember this one.

More Holiday Fun to Come

The Spirit of Christmas Parade is just the kickoff. Dayton has holiday events and activities running through the season, so mark December 6 on your calendar and start the celebrations right.

Head to cityofdaytontx.com for more details closer to the event date. This is neighborhood holiday celebration done right. Get there, enjoy it, and make it a tradition your family comes back to year after year.
