Keebler is bringing back its Limited Edition Spookie Fudge Stripes cookies for Halloween 2026, and Houston Zoo is one of just six zoos nationwide hosting an in-person Spookie Stripes Safari to go along with it, according to Keebler.
The Spookie Stripes Safari kicks off September 1 and runs through October 31, both online at OpenForMagic.com and in person at participating zoos. It’s the program’s second year running, and it’s expanding with new zoo locations and updated digital gameplay for 2026.
At Houston Zoo, families can take part in a safari-style exploration designed to help kids identify and learn about their favorite striped animals, complete with branded signage, Spookie Fudge Stripes sampling, and appearances by Ernie the Elf. The experience is included with regular zoo admission or membership, no separate ticket required.
For families who can’t make it to the zoo, the digital version works from home too. Shoppers who buy a pack of the cookies and scan the on-pack QR code get access to an illustrated online zoo at OpenForMagic.com, where the goal is simple: search for striped cookies hiding among striped animals and log your discoveries for a shot at prizes.
The grand prize sends one family of four on an all-inclusive VIP weekend trip to Nashville Zoo, including a backstage tour, unlimited ride passes, roundtrip airfare, hotel accommodations, and spending money.
