Since its start in 2011, National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day—observed annually on the third Friday in December—has grown into a worldwide celebration. This lighthearted holiday encourages people to wear their most garish, festive sweaters and join in the fun. Texans looking to celebrate will find no shortage of events to spread holiday cheer and show off their sartorial creativity.

🎭 The Ugly Sweater Holiday Show

  • Date and Time: Saturday, December 21 · 8:00 – 9:30 PM CST
  • Location: Backdoor Comedy, 940 East Belt Line Road, Richardson, TX 75081
    Get ready to laugh your ugliest sweater off at this hilarious stand-up comedy event! Wear your most outrageous sweater for a chance to win $50. Grab your tickets now for a night of comedy and festive cheer.

🍷 Ugly Sweater Wine Walk

  • Date: Thursday, December 5, 2024
  • Location: Watters Creek Village, Allen, TX
    • Check-in: 915 Watters Creek Blvd. (ID required)
      Indulge in holiday cheer as you sip and stroll. Participants receive a wine glass, a map, and a swag bag (while supplies last). Enjoy complimentary bites and wine tastings at each stop, and don’t forget to snap a picture with Santa in his Winter Wonderland!

🎄 Classic Christmas at Houston’s Memorial City Mall

  • Theme Night: Ugly Sweater Night
    • Date: December 15
    • Time: 6:00 – 10:30 PM
      Partnering with Tipsy Elves, this immersive holiday event features festive activities and prizes for the “ugliest” sweaters. Stroll through spectacular light displays, skate on a real ice rink, and enjoy holiday treats while competing for fun prizes!
