To Our Dear Readers,

We’re thrilled to introduce you to one of our most meaningful artistic discoveries—a performance our team had the privilege of experiencing firsthand: Shen Yun.

From the moment our editorial team first saw the production, we became instant fans. Shen Yun is unlike anything we’ve ever encountered. It’s a feast for the eyes, ears, and spirit—an emotional journey brought to life through radiant colors, a live orchestra blending Eastern and Western traditions, and dancers performing with striking precision against a patented animated backdrop. Each vignette—drawing on 5,000 years of history—explores timeless themes of love, loyalty, honor, joy, sorrow, and faith in goodness.

As proud Texans, we were surprised to find in Shen Yun a spirit that felt distinctly our own: an unwavering perseverance in the pursuit of freedom.

Through shenyun.org, we learned about the nonprofit’s mission to revive 5,000 years of authentic, divinely inspired traditional Chinese culture—much of which was suppressed or destroyed after the communist takeover in China. Shen Yun’s founders fled brutal religious persecution, seeking freedom of belief here in the United States, where the production is now based. Many of the performers’ own family members have endured detention, torture, or even death at the hands of the Chinese Communist Party over the past two decades.

Even today, Shen Yun’s dancers, musicians, volunteers, and presenting theaters face ongoing intimidation and disinformation efforts from the same regime. Yet these artists remain steadfast in sharing a cultural and spiritual heritage that has shaped Chinese civilization for millennia.

What resonates deeply with us at The Texas Insider are Shen Yun’s core values: truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance. These principles mirror the standards we work to uphold—in how we report, how we serve our community, and how we approach our mission every day.

Shen Yun will be touring across Texas over the coming months, and we truly cannot recommend it highly enough. Whether you’re seeking an evening of exceptional artistry, a rich cultural experience, or something that speaks to the heart—Shen Yun offers all of that and more.

We hope to see you there.

 Warmly,

 The Texas Insider Team
