Nicknamed the “King of Country Music,” George Strait is still making history at 72 years old.
Strait will soon be inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2025, along with other famous musicians such as Keith Urban, Prince, and Busta Rhymes.
The announcement came almost two weeks after the country music legend drew more than 110,000 fans to the Texas A&M’s Kyle Field in College Station, Texas.
The attendance at Strait’s only Texas performance of his tour on June 15 broke the highest record for a ticketed show in the U.S., which was previously held by the Grateful Dead for a 1977 concert.
According to The Epoch Times, high-profile politicians Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott also attended the concert.
Born in Poteet, Texas, Strait also holds the record for having the most number one hits on all charts by any artist, in any genre of music.
With more than 120 million records globally, Strait is one of the best-selling country musicians of all time.
Strait is heading to four more cities in his tour, including one this weekend in Salt Lake City, Utah. For more information on tickets and tour dates, visit https://www.georgestrait.com/calendar/.
