Your Steps Can Change Lives This Weekend in South Dallas

AIDS Walk South Dallas brings community, music, and real impact together — and all you have to do is show up.

Not every weekend gives you the chance to have a good time and genuinely help your neighbors. This Saturday, you get both.

AIDS Walk South Dallas returns on March 21, and it’s one of the most meaningful mornings you can spend in the city. A 5K community walk through historic South Dallas, wrapped in live music, food, vendors, and the kind of crowd that makes you proud to live here. The theme this year is “We All Matter” — and every person who shows up proves it.

Why This Walk Matters Here

Dallas carries one of the highest HIV rates in Texas. That means the people this walk supports aren’t strangers — they’re your neighbors, your coworkers, people in your community who need access to testing, medication, healthcare, and emergency support.

Funds raised go directly to those programs through AIDS Walk South Dallas, Inc., a local nonprofit that has spent years delivering education, peer support, advocacy, and real financial assistance to people affected by HIV/AIDS right here in the Dallas area. Your registration fee and donations don’t disappear into an administrative void — they come back around as care for someone who needs it.

What the Day Actually Looks Like

This is not a solemn march. It’s a celebration with a cause.

Expect live music and entertainment, dancing, local vendors, and a crowd full of families, community groups, and people from every corner of the city. You can walk the 5K at your own pace — no training needed, no pressure — or volunteer, cheer people on, or just soak in the energy. Bring your kids. Bring your crew. Come solo. You’ll find your people within the first five minutes.

Where You’re Heading

The walk starts and ends at the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center in South Dallas — a historic hub that fits the spirit of this event perfectly. The route winds through the surrounding community before looping back, so you’ll see and feel the neighborhood this walk is built to serve.

How to Make the Most of Your Morning

Show up early — registration opens in the morning ahead of the walk kickoff, and these events fill up fast. Wear comfortable shoes, bring cash for vendors, and plan to stay for the full experience. Consider joining a team or making a donation when you register. Even a small contribution amplifies what this organization can do for people who really need it.
