Here’s your week to change all that.

October 5th-11th is National Digital Inclusion Week, and Dallas isn’t just participating – we’re going all out. Every single day, there’s a free workshop designed to turn your digital frustrations into digital confidence.

What’s Digital Inclusion Week All About?

This is the one week a year when the entire country stops to focus on a simple truth: being disconnected from digital tools shouldn’t be a barrier to opportunity, services, or staying in touch with the people you care about.

It’s not about being “tech-savvy.” It’s about making sure everyone has what they need to participate fully in modern life – whether that’s applying for jobs online, video chatting with grandkids, or just knowing your personal information is safe when you’re browsing the web.

Your Week-by-Week Game Plan

Saturday, October 5th: The Big Kickoff Get Connected Dallas at For Oak Cliff
10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
907 E Ledbetter Dr, Dallas, TX 75216

Start your week at the main event! This isn’t just a workshop – it’s a full digital inclusion festival. Come experience what it feels like when technology actually works for you instead of against you.

Monday, October 7th: Master the Basics Intro to Google Docs (Spanish)
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Tech Lab at Bachman Lake Together
9507 Overlake Dr, Dallas, TX 75220

Perfect for anyone who’s heard about Google Docs but has no idea where to start. Learn how to create, share, and collaborate on documents that you can access from anywhere.

Tuesday, October 8th: Build Your Foundation Intro to Digital Skills (English)
Dallas Bethlehem Center
4410 Leland Avenue, Dallas, TX 75215

The fundamentals you wish someone had taught you years ago. From basic computer navigation to understanding how the internet actually works.

Wednesday, October 9th: Get Social (Safely) Social Media Basics (Spanish)
Computer Help Center at Vickery Meadow Youth Development Foundation
7110 Holly Hill Dr, Dallas, TX 75231

Learn how to connect with family and friends online without falling for scams or sharing more than you meant to.

Thursday, October 10th: Protect Yourself Online Privacy (English)
Connected Learning Center at CitySquare
1610 S. Malcolm X Blvd, Dallas, TX 75226

The real talk about keeping your personal information safe online. No paranoia, just practical steps that actually work.

Friday, October 11th: Master Your Inbox Intro to Gmail (English)
4:00 – 6:00 PM
Login Shop at ICD
4907 Spring Ave, Dallas, TX 75210

End the week by getting your email game together. Create accounts, organize your inbox, and never lose important messages again.

Why This Week Changes Everything

Most of the time, learning digital skills feels like trying to drink from a fire hose. Too much information, not enough context, and definitely not enough time to practice.

This week is different. Each workshop focuses on one specific skill you can actually use. Each location is designed to feel welcoming, not intimidating. Each instructor understands that “just Google it” isn’t always helpful advice.

What Makes Dallas Special

While cities across the country are hosting their own Digital Inclusion Week events, Dallas is doing something extra: we’re making sure there’s something for everyone, in the language they’re most comfortable with, in neighborhoods where people actually live and work.

This isn’t downtown-only programming. This is community-based learning that meets you where you are.

The Real Impact

By the end of this week, you could be the person in your family who helps others set up video calls. You could be confidently applying for jobs online. You could be safely shopping, banking, and staying connected without constantly worrying about doing something wrong.

More importantly, you’ll understand that being “bad with computers” isn’t a permanent condition – it’s just a skill gap, and skill gaps can be filled.

How to Join

Registration is appreciated but not required – which means you can show up to any workshop that fits your schedule, even if you decide last minute.

Pick one workshop or attend them all. Come with specific questions or just come curious. Bring a friend or come solo. The only requirement is showing up ready to learn something new.

Your Next Move

Look at your calendar for October 5th-11th. Pick the workshops that sound most useful or interesting. Clear that time.

Because this isn’t just National Digital Inclusion Week – this is your week to stop feeling left behind by technology and start feeling empowered by it.

Ready to make this the week everything clicks?

Your more connected, more confident future starts Saturday, October 5th.
