As the holiday season approaches, the incredible volunteers of Toys for Tots are gearing up to spread cheer to every child in North Texas. This year’s coordinator of the event was Lisa Montgomery. This was the annual Toys for Tots Kick off Event for North Texas.

This year, they’re making sure no one misses out on the magic of receiving a new gift during this season of giving. Kicking off the 2024 giving season with a bang, Toys for Tots will host a day full of excitement on Thursday, Oct. 17, at the Monument Realty PGA District.

Starting bright and early at 7 a.m., the fun begins with a joyful celebration open to all! Frisco Mayor Jeff Cheney will join forces with five-time Super Bowl champion Charles Haley to rally mayors from across North Texas, challenging them to embrace the generous spirit of giving.

Special guests include Mike Stuckey, Vice President of the Toys for Tots Foundation; WWF and MMA champion Bobby Lashley; and the always-impressive U.S. Marines in their iconic dress blues.

But the fun didn’t stop there! At 5 p.m., the festivities continued at the PGA District with Denton Mayor Gerard Hudspeth stepping up to the challenge. Santa, his elves, and local high school cheer and drill teams will join in the fun, alongside mascots from Collin County sports teams like the Dallas Legends, Dallas Sidekicks, and Allen Americans. They’ll face off in a spirited putting contest on the Dance Floor, the PGA District’s massive putting course.

“Since we opened last year, Omni PGA Frisco has been a proud partner in the community,” says Jeff Smith, Vice President and Managing Director of Omni PGA Frisco Resort. “We’re overjoyed to help bring some extra holiday magic to children across North Texas.”

Toys for Tots has been spreading joy since 1947, and last year was record-breaking! Thanks to more than 50,000 volunteers, an incredible 25.5 million toys, books, and games were delivered to 10.3 million children in need. Over the years, they’ve brought 677 million toys to 301 million deserving kids. The 2023 season was unforgettable, and with your help, 2024 is sure to be even brighter!
