U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said it arrested additional people it described as convicted criminals, including individuals with prior convictions for murder, sexual offenses against children, sexual assault, and drug-trafficking crimes, according to a Department of Homeland Security statement.
The department did not name the individuals, say how many were arrested, specify where the arrests occurred, or provide case details. In the statement, Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said the arrests were part of the administration’s continued effort to remove people with criminal convictions from U.S. communities.
