U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said it arrested additional individuals it described as convicted criminals, including people with prior convictions for sex offenses and drug-related crimes, according to a Department of Homeland Security statement.
The agency did not name the individuals, specify where the arrests took place, or provide case details. In the statement, Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said the arrests were part of the administration’s continued effort to remove people with criminal convictions from U.S. communities.
