  • Abbott announces $936M Baytown power-plant investment
    Governor Greg Abbott revealed that NRG Energy will build a $936 million natural gas power plant in Baytown. The facility, backed by Texas’s JETI (Jobs, Energy, Technology & Innovation) program, is expected to deliver 721 megawatts to ERCOT’s grid by 2028, strengthening the state’s energy reliability and creating local jobs.   • Free nature centers for Texas Recycles Day
    To celebrate Texas Recycles Day (Nov. 15), H-E-B is sponsoring free entry to 18 nature centers across the state from Nov. 14–16 in exchange for a recyclable plastic bottle or single-use plastic bag.
