  • Abbott Vows $90M Push to Turn Harris County Red
Governor Greg Abbott announced a massive campaign effort to flip Harris County, pledging to spend up to $90 million to make the area a stronghold for his party. He called it a key battleground and said the strategy will center on grassroots mobilization and voter outreach. The governor also emphasized improved data operations and targeted communication as essential to winning over suburban voters. Local Democratic leaders dismissed the plan as political theater and vowed to defend the county’s current leadership.
  • San Antonio Named Home for Texas Cyber Command
Abbott confirmed San Antonio will host the new Texas Cyber Command headquarters at the University of Texas at San Antonio. The $345 million facility will strengthen state cybersecurity operations and is expected to create around 130 jobs by 2027. Officials say the move positions San Antonio as a national leader in cyber defense and innovation. UTSA leaders called it a milestone that will expand research opportunities and attract top tech talent.
  • San Antonio Walmart Reopens Following $750K Renovation
A Southside Walmart Supercenter in San Antonio has reopened after a $750,000 renovation that modernized the layout, added a “Fashion of the Future” boutique, and expanded baby and pet product sections. The redesign also includes updated self-checkout stations and improved accessibility features. The grand-reopening celebration will offer family activities, giveaways, and donations to local nonprofits. Store managers say the changes reflect shifting customer preferences and a commitment to serving the community.
