  • SWAT standoff closes I-20 in Dallas ahead of rush hour
    A SWAT situation on I-20 near St. Augustine Road triggered a full shutdown of east and westbound lanes for over two hours during the Monday morning commute. Authorities said the closure was needed to ensure the safety of motorists, as negotiations continued with a person on a bridge in the area.
  • Appeals court to review Texas Ten Commandments law in January
    The United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit has agreed to hear the state’s appeal of a ruling that blocked a law requiring nearly a dozen districts to display the Ten Commandments in classrooms. The case will be heard in full panel session alongside a similar Louisiana case next January.
