Get ready for a genuine Texas experience that’s been 119 years in the making. The Kendall County Fair returns to beautiful Herff Park for Labor Day weekend, August 29-31, 2025, with all the authentic Hill Country charm that makes this one of Texas’s most beloved county fairs.

Located at the gateway to the Texas Hill Country, this isn’t just another fair—it’s a living piece of Texas history where agricultural traditions meet family fun, and everyone leaves with memories and maybe a little dust on their boots.

Your Weekend of Hill Country Adventure

Friday Night Rodeo Action

Friday brings the excitement of authentic Texas rodeo action. Watch cowboys and cowgirls compete in traditional rodeo events that showcase the skills that built the Hill Country.

Saturday’s Main Event Lineup

Saturday morning kicks off with the traditional parade down Main Street in Boerne—a procession that brings the whole community together. Then it’s back to the fairgrounds for the livestock show, where you’ll see prize-winning cattle, horses, and other animals that represent the best of Hill Country ranching.

Sunday’s Bull Riding Extreme

Sunday cranks up the adrenaline with Bull Riding Extreme, where brave riders take on some of the toughest bulls in Texas. It’s the kind of authentic Western excitement you can only find at a real county fair.

Entertainment All Weekend Long

The main stage features live entertainment throughout the weekend, showcasing local and regional talent that captures the spirit of the Hill Country.

More Than Just a Fair

Queen’s Pageant Thursday Night

The festivities actually start Thursday evening with the traditional Queen’s Pageant, where local young women compete for the honor of representing Kendall County.

Homestead Heritage Exhibits

Don’t miss the Homestead Heritage Exhibit Hall, where local artisans and craftspeople display their heart and soul through traditional and contemporary creations. These exhibits showcase skills passed down through generations of Hill Country families.

Vendor Village

Shop the best vendors in Texas, offering everything from handcrafted jewelry and artisan goods to authentic Texas foods that’ll make your taste buds sing. The food vendor lineup includes Hill Country classics and fair favorites that satisfy every craving.

A Living Piece of Texas History

This fair started in 1905 when folks needed a central place to gather, exchange ideas, and share news. Today, it continues that tradition on the same 55 acres of live oak-studded land donated by the Ferdinand Ludwig Von Herff Family over a century ago.

The Kendall County Fair Association operates as a 501(c)3 nonprofit with over 2,500 lifetime members, ensuring every dollar raised goes back into preserving this agricultural and cultural tradition for future generations.
