$14 Million Just Dropped to Help YOU Land a High-Paying Texas Job!

Looking for a career that puts real money in your pocket? Texas just made it a whole lot easier! Governor Abbott announced over $14 million in Jobs and Education for Texans (JET) grants that will help YOU get the training you need for the jobs employers are desperately trying to fill.

This isn’t just another government program – it’s your fast track to a bigger paycheck and job security in industries that are hiring like crazy across Texas.

From Classroom to Career in Record Time

Forget spending years in school with no guarantee of a job. These JET grants are laser-focused on training that leads directly to high-demand careers where employers are practically begging for qualified workers.

“As our economy grows, Texas will continue to invest in the future of our workforce,” Governor Abbott explained. And this investment is serious – the equipment purchased through these grants will train more than 6,500 Texans for jobs that pay well and offer real career advancement.

Your Community Is Getting the Tools

The beauty of this program? It’s happening right in your backyard! Community colleges and school districts across the state – from tiny Wolfe City ISD to major institutions like Dallas College – are receiving cutting-edge equipment to train students for careers in healthcare, welding, automotive technology, and more.

Just look at what’s coming to your local schools:

  • Austin Community College: $331,387 to train automotive service technicians
  • Kilgore College: $354,491 for heating and air conditioning specialists
  • Donna ISD: $337,820 to prepare medical assistants
  • Kountze ISD: $353,282 for welding programs

Hot Jobs You Can Train For Now

These grants target the careers Texas employers need most. Ever thought about becoming a:

  • Registered nurse (with programs at Grayson College, Northeast Texas Community College, and many local ISDs)
  • Welder (with training at Texas State Technical College and multiple school districts)
  • Aircraft mechanic (at Paris Junior College)
  • Truck driver (at Dallas College and Laredo College)
  • Dental hygienist (at Del Mar College)

The best part? Many of these programs can be completed in two years or less, putting you on the fast track to earning a solid income.

How to Get In On This Opportunity

If you’re interested in these career-focused programs, now’s the time to act! Contact your local community college or school district to learn about enrollment in these high-demand training programs.

For school administrators and educators: TWC is now accepting applications for the 2026 JET grant program. Texas public junior, state, and technical colleges, school districts, and open-enrollment charter schools can apply through the TWC Procurement Portal website.

“These grants strategically target high-growth industries, ensuring workers can find meaningful career opportunities while strengthening Texas’ reputation as the best state for doing business,” said TWC Chairman Joe Esparza.

Don’t wait for someone else to grab these opportunities! Whether you’re a recent high school graduate, looking to change careers, or want to upgrade your skills for better pay, these programs are your gateway to Texas’ booming job market.
