Arlington Rallies for the Game: Donate Soccer Gear Ahead of FIFA World Cup 26™

ARLINGTON, TEXAS — As the countdown begins for FIFA World Cup 26™, excitement is already building across North Texas — and now Arlington residents have a chance to join the celebration while making a global impact. The North Texas FIFA World Cup Organizing Committee has officially launched a Community Soccer Equipment, Cleats, and Shoe Drive, and donations are being accepted through June 30.
The regional effort aims to collect new or gently used soccer gear and shoes to benefit underserved communities both locally and internationally. One of the main drop-off locations is right here in Arlington at Kroger, located at 2580 E. Arkansas Lane, making it easy for residents to participate.
What to Donate:
  • Soccer balls

  • Cleats, shin guards, and uniforms

  • All gently used soccer gear

  • All types of shoes (to be distributed globally by the nonprofit Soles4Souls)

While soccer-specific items will go to local nonprofits serving youth in North Texas, Soles4Souls will ensure that general footwear donations reach individuals in need around the world, supporting their mission to fight poverty and promote sustainability.
“This drive goes beyond just gear — it’s about access, empowerment, and global community,” said organizers with the North Texas FIFA Committee.
Celebrating a Global Game, Locally
As Arlington prepares to take the global stage as a host city for FIFA World Cup 26™, city leaders say the drive is a meaningful way for residents to get involved, support young athletes, and foster community spirit.
“This is a chance for our community to come together, share the love of the game, and help remove barriers for kids who dream of playing,” said a city spokesperson.
The donation drive is part of a series of events leading up to next summer’s World Cup, which will bring international attention — and thousands of visitors — to the region.
Get Involved

Let’s go, Arlington — give gear, spread joy, and help kick off the countdown to FIFA World Cup 26™.
