Hold onto your chopsticks, Austin – something incredible is about to happen that’s never happened in Texas before. This Saturday, July 26th, the legendary JAPAN Fes is rolling into town, and it’s bringing enough authentic Japanese flavors to make your head spin (in the best possible way).

This Isn’t Your Average Food Truck Festival

We’re talking about the world’s largest Japanese food festival choosing Austin as its very first Texas stop. Think about that for a second – out of all the cities in this massive state, they picked us. And honestly? They couldn’t have made a better choice.

When: Saturday, July 26th, 5PM-10PM
Where: Federal Courthouse Plaza, 400-440 W 5th St, Austin
Cost: Absolutely FREE (seriously!)

What’s Waiting for Your Taste Buds

Forget everything you think you know about Japanese food. Sure, you’ve had sushi, but have you ever tried Mitarashi Dango – those perfectly chewy rice dumplings glazed with a sweet-savory sauce that’ll make you close your eyes and smile? Or how about a Melon Soda Float that tastes like childhood summer dreams but in the most sophisticated way possible?

The festival is featuring treats you literally can’t find anywhere else in Texas:

  • Onigiri – those perfect little rice triangles that are somehow both simple and mind-blowing
  • Authentic Japanese street snacks that’ll transport you straight to Tokyo
  • Plus dozens of other vendors bringing flavors you’ve only dreamed about

Asahi Imports: Your New Favorite Discovery

Local gem Asahi Imports will be there as one of the featured vendors, and if you’ve never experienced their authentic Japanese groceries and gifts, you’re in for a treat. These folks know their stuff – they’re the real deal when it comes to bringing genuine Japanese culture to Austin.

Why This Saturday Changes Everything

Picture this: You’re strolling through downtown Austin as the sun starts to set, the air filled with the most incredible aromas you’ve ever smelled. Families are laughing, friends are sharing plates of food they can’t even pronounce, and everyone’s discovering their new favorite snack. That’s exactly what’s about to happen at Federal Courthouse Plaza.

This isn’t just a food festival – it’s Austin getting a crash course in authentic Japanese culture, and it’s happening in the heart of our city. The fact that it’s completely free? That’s just Austin being Austin – welcoming everyone to experience something amazing together.

Don’t Be the Person Who Missed Out

We all have that friend who somehow missed every cool thing that happened in the city, right? Don’t be that person this time. The world’s largest Japanese food festival doesn’t come to Texas every day, and when it does, you want to be there with your appetite ready.

Saturday, July 26th, 5PM-10PM
Federal Courthouse Plaza
400-440 W 5th St

Bring your friends, bring your family, bring your sense of adventure. This is the kind of weekend experience that becomes one of those stories you’ll tell for years – “Remember that incredible Japanese festival downtown? That mitarashi dango was life-changing!”

Austin, get ready to fall in love with Japanese food all over again. See you Saturday!

JAPAN Fes Texas is making history as the first-ever Texas stop for the world’s largest Japanese food festival. Come hungry, leave happy.
