WASHINGTON, D.C. — As patriotic fervor builds in the days leading up to Independence Day, Americans are turning their attention to another celebration of national pride: Made in the USA Day, observed every July 2.

Established in 1989 by Joel Joseph, founder of the Made in the USA Foundation, the day is devoted to honoring the products, companies, and workers that keep American manufacturing alive. Strategically placed just before July 4, it’s a timely reminder that supporting local businesses can be a powerful form of patriotism.

“Buying American-made isn’t just about patriotism,” said Joel Joseph, “it’s about investing in our communities, ensuring high-quality standards, and protecting American jobs.”

The Health and Environmental Case for Buying Local

Beyond the economic and ethical advantages, there’s a growing awareness of the personal health benefits of choosing locally made products.

“When you buy goods made near you—especially foods and wellness products—your body is more naturally adapted to them,” said Dr. Renee Carter, lead formulator at SleepFuel. “You’re consuming ingredients that come from the same air, water, and soil your body is already exposed to. That can support better digestion, fewer sensitivities, and more effective results.”

Local goods also provide peace of mind: consumers know exactly where their products come from, how they’re made, and what’s in them. In contrast, many imported goods lack full transparency and may be produced in countries with looser safety, labor, or environmental standards.

Quality, Ethics, and Trust in the Made in the USA Label

According to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), products bearing the “Made in the USA” label must be “all or virtually all” produced domestically. For many businesses, it’s not just a label—it’s a promise.

“There’s something deeply meaningful about knowing every bite, stitch, or brushstroke was made here,” said Emma Wright, spokesperson for LIVFRESH Dental Gel. “We’re proud to create a product that not only improves oral health, but does so with American ingenuity and science behind it.”

This label also appeals to sustainability-conscious shoppers. Goods made in the U.S. typically follow stricter environmental practices and are transported shorter distances, resulting in a smaller carbon footprint.

Featured Products to Support on Made in the USA Day

In honor of the occasion, The Epoch Times has curated a selection of high-quality American-made products that reflect the innovation and care behind domestic craftsmanship:

🍫 Guilt-Free Gourmet Chocolate Bites
Crafted with 73% organic dark chocolate, these bites are filled with pecan butter, raspberry crème, or quinoa crunch. They’re keto- and diabetic-friendly, contain no added sugar, and have just 150–160 calories per serving.

“We make our chocolate in small batches with clean, organic ingredients sourced right here in the U.S.,” said Michelle Harper, founder. “It’s about enjoying indulgence without the guilt—or the guesswork.”

🧀 DIY Mozzarella & Ricotta Cheese Kit
Produced in Portland, Oregon, this easy-to-use kit lets you make up to six pounds of fresh cheese in your own kitchen. Gluten-free, vegetarian, and eco-friendly.

“We believe everyone deserves access to real food made by their own hands,” said Jason Bell, co-creator. “Making it in the U.S. ensures quality and freshness that mass-market imports can’t match.”

😴 SleepFuel All-Natural Sleep Spray
Formulated with 13 botanical ingredients—and zero melatonin—this natural sleep aid promotes deep, uninterrupted rest. It’s made without sugar, calories, or synthetic additives.

“We oversee every part of the process locally, so customers know exactly what they’re getting,” said Dr. Carter. “That’s the kind of trust you can only build through transparency.”

🪥 LIVFRESH Dental Gel
Backed by 26 studies and 40 patents, this cutting-edge gel removes plaque on a molecular level and significantly improves gum health—without harsh scrubbing.

“We’re not just making toothpaste—we’re changing the way people think about oral health,” said Wright. “And we’re doing it right here in America.”
