WASHINGTON — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested several convicted criminal illegal aliens across the country this week, including a Dallas man convicted of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to agency releases.

Long Quoc Van Nguyen, a criminal illegal alien from Vietnam, was convicted of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon causing bodily injury and two counts of driving under the influence of liquor in Dallas, according to ICE.

The Dallas case was among a wider group of arrests ICE said involved individuals convicted of murder, sexual crimes against children, and drug trafficking. Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said ICE officers “work 24/7 to remove the worst of the worst from our communities,” adding that the agency had arrested “murderers, pedophiles, violent assailants, and other public safety threats.” Bis said the agency’s message to illegal aliens is to leave the country, warning that ICE “will find you and deport you” if they do not.

Two of the arrests involved murder convictions. Cornelio Arrellano-Hernandez, from Mexico, was convicted of first-degree murder in Los Angeles, and Khamkong Chittamath, from Laos, was convicted of second-degree murder in Hartford, Connecticut. Blanca Marisela Mendez-Ramirez, from Guatemala, was convicted of first-degree involuntary manslaughter in Perry County, Missouri.

Several arrests involved convictions for crimes against children. Yaney Garcia-Ozuna, from Mexico, was convicted of lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14 in Livermore, California. Fahed Ahmad Husein, from Syria, was convicted of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. Rogelio Perez-Chavez, from Guatemala, was convicted of aggravated sexual battery involving a victim under 13 in Newport News, Virginia.

Other arrests cited by ICE included weapons and drug-related convictions. Ebrima Sanneh, from Gambia, was convicted of obstructing a law enforcement officer, carrying a concealed gun, and attempted trafficking of cocaine and methamphetamine in Gaston County, North Carolina. Cheikh Assane Diagne, from Senegal, was convicted of carrying a handgun and trespassing in Washington, D.C. Rogelio Garcia-Alvarado, from Mexico, was convicted of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamines in Atlanta.

ICE encourages the public to report suspicious criminal activity by calling 1-866-347-2423.
