A famous travel blogger is dead. The ghost tour guide looks suspicious. The obsessed boyfriend has a motive. And you? You’re Lubbock’s newest detective tasked with catching the killer before they strike again.

Welcome to “Death in the Shadows,” an outdoor mystery game that transforms downtown Lubbock into your personal crime scene. Armed with just your smartphone and detective instincts, you’ll spend up to two hours following clues, interrogating suspects, and piecing together evidence across 12 real locations within walking distance of Texas Avenue.

How Your Investigation Unfolds

Starting at 1112 Texas Avenue, the Questo mobile app becomes your digital detective toolkit. No need to enter any buildings—everything happens on the streets as you move from location to location, gathering clues about Bella Wanderlust’s mysterious death.

Was it Walter, her controlling boyfriend who couldn’t handle rejection? Percy Shadows, the dramatic ghost tour guide who discovered the body? Or someone else lurking in Lubbock’s shadows?

You’ll decipher hidden messages, examine evidence, and make the connections that crack the case. Think outdoor escape room meets scavenger hunt with a murder mystery twist.

Perfect for Any Group

This isn’t your typical board game night. You can play solo for a personal challenge, bring friends for a group adventure, or even make it a unique date night activity. There’s no player limit, so bring the whole crew if you want.

The game works on your schedule too—start any day, any time. Whether you want a Saturday afternoon adventure or a mysterious evening investigation, Lubbock’s streets are ready for your detective work.

What Makes This Special

Questo has created interactive adventures in over 500 cities worldwide, with more than a million people turning ordinary walks into epic quests. The Lubbock murder mystery combines storytelling with real exploration, revealing parts of your city you might never notice otherwise.

You’re not just solving a fictional crime—you’re discovering hidden gems and local history while your brain works to connect the clues. It’s entertainment that gets you moving, thinking, and exploring.
