In today’s episode, we continue our discussion  with Terri Hall and Rachel Hale from Texans Uniting for Reform & Freedom (TURF), a grassroots organization that has been at the forefront of fighting controversial toll roads, eminent domain abuse, and public-private partnership schemes in Texas.

Founded by Terri Hall over two decades ago, TURF has become a powerful voice for Texas citizens, advocating for accountability in transportation policy and protecting landowners from unjust land seizures.

Terri and Rachel share insights into the ongoing threats Texans face from toll road legislation, the push for new tolling projects, and the abuse of eminent domain to seize land for private corporations. We discuss how TURF has been instrumental in stopping harmful initiatives like the Trans Texas Corridor (TTC) and its successful efforts to secure a moratorium on toll road projects funded by stimulus money.

As TURF continues to push for sensible, non-toll, and fiscally responsible transportation solutions, their work highlights the importance of grassroots activism in holding government and private interests accountable. Tune in to learn about the history of TURF’s battles, the current challenges they are facing, and how citizens can get involved in protecting their rights and freedoms.

Key Topics:

  • The mission and history of TURF
  • The dangers of toll roads and public-private partnerships (CDAs)
  • The fight against eminent domain abuse in Texas
  • How TURF helped stop the Trans Texas Corridor (TTC)
  • Current legislative threats and grassroots efforts to protect Texans
  • The future of transportation policy in Texas

If you care about preserving free and accessible roads, protecting private property rights, and ensuring accountable government policies, this episode is a must-listen!
