Welcome to today’s episode! We’re thrilled to have Keresa Richardson joining us. Keresa is not only a Republican candidate running for the Texas House of Representatives in District 61, but she is also an accomplished entrepreneur and a dedicated conservative community leader.

As the CEO of The Lawton Group, Keresa, alongside her husband J.R., has built a remarkable legacy over the past 40 years. Starting from scratch with zero customers and zero employees, their unwavering commitment to customer service and hard work has transformed their business into a thriving enterprise. Today, they proudly operate a network of Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical, Refrigeration, and Pest Control companies serving businesses and consumers across DFW, Austin, and San Antonio.

Keresa has a passion for women in business and trades. Her role as a small business owner has given her firsthand insight into the daily challenges and tasks required to operate a successful enterprise, making her a strong advocate for the business community.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Keresa is deeply engaged in her community and her church. They consistently host charity and community events and their home is a sanctuary for missionaries on furlough in the US. She and J.R are not only proud parents to three accomplished grown children but also doting grandparents to five grandchildren. Their home is further enriched by the presence of their dachshund , Demi who believes she is the “leader of the pack”.

In addition to her professional and family life, Keresa is a cancer survivor, having beaten cancer into submission. Her personal battle with cancer has fueled her commitment to supporting cancer patients in their journey to wellness. Keresa understands firsthand the challenges and strength required to combat this terrible disease, motivating her to work towards a future where cancer is eradicated from our state and country.

Keresa Richardson’s story is one of resilience, compassion, and dedication. Her experiences as a business leader, community advocate, and cancer survivor have shaped her into a tenacious and compassionate individual. As she steps into the realm of running for Texas State House, she brings with her a wealth of knowledge, a deep understanding of community needs, and an unwavering commitment to creating a better future for all.
