FREE-HAW! Trinity Metro Just Made Your Week – Everything’s FREE August 4-10!

Hold onto your hats, Fort Worth! Your friendly neighborhood transit system just dropped the best news you’ll hear all week. From Monday, August 4th through Sunday, August 10th, 2025, every single Trinity Metro service is absolutely, completely, ridiculously FREE!

That’s right—no tickets, no passes, no fumbling for exact change. Just hop on and ride wherever your heart desires throughout Tarrant County. Whether you’re a daily commuter or someone who’s never set foot on public transit, this is your golden ticket to explore everything our amazing transit system has to offer.

Your Free Ride Menu (Yes, Everything!)

Trinity Metro TEXRail – Your Airport Express Pass

Remember those stressful airport trips? The parking nightmares, the traffic jams, the “Am I going to miss my flight?” panic attacks? Kiss all that goodbye!

TEXRail runs between downtown Fort Worth and DFW Airport, with stops in North Richland Hills and Grapevine. This week, that smooth, stress-free ride to catch your flight is completely free. Sit back, relax, maybe catch up on that podcast, and arrive at the airport feeling like a human being instead of a stressed-out mess.

Why you’ll love it: No traffic, no parking fees, no road rage. Just pure, peaceful transit bliss straight to Terminal B.

Trinity Metro Bus – Your Shopping Spree Shuttle

Here’s where it gets really fun! This free week coincides perfectly with Tax-Free Weekend, which means you can save money getting to the places where you’ll save even more money. It’s like a double-win situation that makes your wallet dance.

Trinity Metro buses hit all the major shopping hotspots: Hulen Mall, La Gran Plaza de Fort Worth, University Park Village, and tons more. Instead of circling parking lots like a vulture, you’ll be dropped off right at the door, ready to shop ’til you drop.

Pro tip: Use that money you would’ve spent on gas and parking to treat yourself to something nice. You’ve earned it!

Trinity Metro Bikes – Your Scenic Adventure Machine

With 400 bikes and 62 stations scattered around Fort Worth, you’ve got more exploration options than you can shake a stick at. Want to cruise the Trinity Trails? Check. Need to zip to lunch without moving your car? Check. Feel like getting some exercise while saving the planet? Double check!

One tiny catch: You’ll need to set up an account and there’s a $50 security deposit (held for up to 48 hours), but each 30-minute ride is free all week long. Think of it as your personal bike fleet, ready whenever you are.

Trinity Metro On-Demand – Your Personal Rideshare Service

This is the coolest thing Trinity Metro offers, and most people don’t even know about it! It works just like Uber or Lyft, but it’s run by your local transit authority. Book a ride on your phone, get picked up at a nearby corner, and boom—you’re where you need to be.

Perfect for those “I need to grab lunch but don’t want to lose my parking spot” moments, or when you’re pressed for time and need corner-to-corner service. You’ll need to set up an account and book in advance, but this week, the ride itself won’t cost you a dime.

Trinity Railway Express (TRE) – Your Dallas Connection

Want to explore both sides of the Metroplex? The TRE runs between Fort Worth and Dallas, connecting you to attractions, events, and adventures in both cities.

Important note: The free ride deal only covers you within Tarrant County. If you’re heading past CentrePort/DFW Airport Station toward Dallas, you’ll need to grab a DART Local Day Pass for that portion of your journey.

Why This Week is Pure Gold

Think about it: when’s the last time you had the chance to try something new without any financial risk? This isn’t just about free transportation—it’s about discovering parts of your own city you might never have explored otherwise.

Maybe you’ll finally check out that farmer’s market you’ve been curious about. Perhaps you’ll take the TEXRail just for the fun of it and see what Grapevine’s all about. Or you could become one of those cool people who bikes to work and then brags about it on social media (we won’t judge).

Your Game Plan for the Week

Monday-Friday: Try TEXRail for your airport run, or use On-Demand for those quick lunch meetings. See how much less stressful your commute becomes when someone else is doing the driving.

Weekend: This is adventure time! Grab those Trinity Metro Bikes and explore the trails. Take a bus to somewhere you’ve never been. Make it a family outing and let the kids experience the magic of riding the train.

Tax-Free Weekend Bonus: Hit the shopping centers via bus and feel like you’re winning at life when you walk past all those cars circling the parking lot.

Getting Started (It’s Easier Than You Think)

For buses and trains: Literally just walk on. No tickets, no scanning, no stress. Find your seat and enjoy the ride.

For bikes: Download the app, set up your account, and you’re rolling.

For On-Demand: Download the Trinity Metro On-Demand app, create your account, and start booking rides like the transit-savvy person you’re about to become.

The Real Talk

Look, we get it. If you’ve never used public transit, it might seem intimidating. But here’s the thing: Trinity Metro isn’t some big, scary city system. This is your local Fort Worth transit, run by people who understand that getting around town should be easy, affordable, and maybe even a little fun.

Plus, with everything being free this week, there’s literally no downside to trying it out. Worst case scenario? You discover it’s not for you, and you’ve lost nothing but a little time. Best case scenario? You find a new way to get around that saves you money, reduces stress, and maybe even becomes part of your regular routine.

Make This Week Count

Between now and Sunday, August 10th, you have the chance to experience your city in a completely different way. You can zip to the airport stress-free, explore neighborhoods you’ve never visited, save money on shopping trips, and maybe even discover that public transit isn’t just practical—it’s actually pretty great.

So what do you say, Fort Worth? Ready to hop aboard and see where the week takes you? Your free rides are waiting, and your city is ready to be explored in a whole new way.

Bottom line: It’s a whole week of free transportation throughout Tarrant County. The only question is: where will you go first?
