The free-flowing, low-cost event connects Texas entrepreneurs with local, state, and federal resources — part of a year-long series rolling through communities across the state

Texas small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs in the Houston area have a new opportunity to sharpen their skills and make connections later this month.

According to the Texas Economic Development & Tourism Office within the Office of the Governor, the next 2026 Governor’s Small Business Summit will be held in Pasadena on Thursday, June 25. The office said the summits are held throughout the year in regions across the state and are designed to help business owners and would-be entrepreneurs start, strengthen, and grow a business by connecting them with resources and information.

“Small businesses are a powerful driver of Texas’ economic success,” Gov. Greg Abbott said in a statement. He said Texas is home to more than 3.5 million small businesses employing nearly half of all working Texans, and that bringing the summits to communities statewide helps ensure every business owner has a chance to succeed.

The office said the Pasadena summit brings together local, state, and federal resource partners to share insights on key business topics, and gives attendees a chance to network with other owners and meet experts offering practical advice.

What to Expect

According to the office, the Pasadena session topics include “AI for Small Business,” “The Power of Local Procurement,” “Culture by Design: Building Workplaces That Thrive,” and “From Vision to Victory: Real Stories of Growth and Leadership.” The office said registration costs $20 and includes access to all sessions, resource providers, lunch, and complimentary professional headshots.

More Summits Across Texas

The office said registration is already open for several upcoming 2026 summits: July 9 in Graham, July 23 in Copperas Cove, August 6 in Midland, August 20 in Pflugerville, September 3 in Nacogdoches, and September 17 in Brewster County. Three more are scheduled with registration opening about three months ahead of each: October 1 in Dalhart, October 15 in El Campo, and November 5 in Midlothian.

The office said it also hosts Governor’s Small Business Webinars online, with on-demand recordings of past sessions available on its website.

If You Go

The Governor’s Small Business Summit — Pasadena takes place Thursday, June 25, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the San Jacinto College CPET Building, 7901 Fairmont Pkwy., Pasadena, TX 77507. Registration is $20 and includes all sessions, resource providers, lunch, and complimentary headshots. To register or find an upcoming summit in another Texas community, visit gov.texas.gov/events.
