Costumes from around the globe, cultural dance performances, and endless memories for kids — KIFEST brings the world to Houston for one free-admission Saturday this October.

Midtown Park, Houston — Saturday, October 10, 2026

Houston is home to one of the most diverse populations in the country, and few events capture that spirit quite like the Kids International Festival. Known simply as KIFEST, the annual celebration returns to Midtown Park, located at 2811 Travis St, bringing together families from every corner of the city for a day built entirely around one idea: celebrating cultures while inspiring futures.

According to festival organizers, KIFEST is a family-oriented event that provides a place to gather with family and friends to learn about other cultures through art, cuisine, music, and cultural dance groups. The festival was created specifically to embrace diversity and promote unity unlike any other kids’ festival in the city, and it delivers on that mission with live performers and cultural dance groups representing traditions from across the globe, alongside hands-on cultural experiences built especially for children.

The flags-as-letters branding on this year’s promotional materials says it all: American, Mexican, Chinese, Colombian, Indian, French, Jamaican, Puerto Rican, and more cultures all come together under the KIFEST banner, reflecting the true melting pot that Houston has become. Past festivals have featured colorful traditional costumes, folkloric dance performances, and interactive cultural booths designed to give kids a genuine, hands-on introduction to traditions from around the world, all in a single afternoon.

Admission is free for kids 12 and under. A few important notes for planning your visit: the festival does not allow coolers, outside food, outside drinks, containers, or pets on-site, so plan to enjoy the festival’s own food and vendor offerings once you arrive. Tickets are available through Eventbrite, and local vendors and sponsors interested in participating can reach out directly to the festival for opportunities.

Whether your family wants to sample food from a dozen different cultures, watch traditional dance performances, or simply give the kids a fun, colorful afternoon outdoors, KIFEST offers a rare chance to experience the whole world without ever leaving Midtown Park.
