Round Rock just got a lot more colorful. The city’s biggest arts celebration returns this October, and you don’t want to miss what’s coming to Centennial Plaza.

The Round Rock Arts Fest — formerly known as Chalk Walk — transforms downtown into a vibrant outdoor gallery where hundreds of artists create, perform, and share their work with thousands of visitors. Best part? Admission costs you nothing.

Step In to the Wonderland of Chalk

Walk through downtown Round Rock during the festival, and you’ll discover something magical happening on every corner. Artists work right before your eyes, creating sidewalk chalk masterpieces that bloom across the pavement. Musicians fill the air with live performances while dancers captivate crowds on outdoor stages.

This isn’t just about looking at art — it’s about experiencing it. Interactive stations invite you and your kids to create your own masterpieces. Local food vendors serve up everything from festival favorites to craft beer collaborations with Bluebonnet Beer Company, adding an Oktoberfest flavor to the weekend.

The festival showcases every form of art you can imagine: fine paintings, handcrafted jewelry, sculptures, photography, and live theater performances. Hundreds of vendors spread across Centennial Plaza at 301 W. Bagdad Avenue, turning the heart of Round Rock into Texas’s most accessible art fair.

When to Go

Friday, October 3: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Perfect for after-work browsing and dinner from food trucks

Saturday, October 4: 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM
The big day with full artist lineup and family activities

Sunday, October 5: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Relaxed morning perfect for families and last-chance shopping

Fun Facts

Round Rock Arts Fest represents something bigger than a weekend event — it celebrates the creative spirit that makes Central Texas communities thrive. When you support local artists, you invest in the cultural fabric that makes your neighborhood special.

The festival brings together established artists and emerging talent, giving you the chance to discover your next favorite piece while supporting creators in your own backyard. Many pieces sell for prices that won’t break your budget, making original art accessible to everyone.

For families, the festival offers something rare: an event where kids can engage with professional artists, try new creative skills, and see their own neighborhood transformed into something extraordinary.

Get Involved

Artists and vendors can still apply to participate through the City of Round Rock Arts & Culture department. Whether you create visual art, perform music, or serve amazing food, the festival welcomes applications for all types of creative expression.

Chalk artists receive special recognition, with designated spaces for sidewalk murals and board installations. The city provides materials and space — you bring the creativity.

Plan Your Visit

Location & Parking:
Centennial Plaza is located at 301 West Bagdad Avenue in downtown Round Rock, behind the Baca Center and McConnico Building. Two parking garages serve the area, though space becomes limited during the festival: the Mass Transit Parking Garage at 310 W Bagdad Avenue and the Allen R. Baca Center Parking Garage at 301 West Bagdad Avenue. Arriving early on Saturday gives you the best parking selection and smaller crowds.

The festival runs rain or shine, so check the weather and dress accordingly. The plaza features tiered grass seating, a performance stage, public art sculptures, and a water feature that creates a perfect backdrop for the weekend’s festivities.

Contact Information:
Round Rock Arts & Culture organizes the entire event as part of the city’s commitment to supporting local creativity.
