The Department of Homeland Security said Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested additional people it described as convicted criminals over the weekend, including individuals with prior convictions for attempted homicide, child sexual abuse, rape, and arson, according to an agency statement.
The department did not name the individuals, say how many were arrested, or specify where the arrests took place. In the statement, Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said the arrests were part of the administration’s ongoing effort to remove people with criminal convictions from U.S. communities.
