If you’re an early childhood special education teacher (or dreaming about becoming one), this fall brings some exciting news: Texas has opened up a brand-new round of funding just for YOU.
The Empowering ECSE Educators to Improve Student Outcomes Grant – Cycle 2 is officially accepting applications from September 15 through October 31, 2025. This program gives educators and schools the chance to get extra training, dual certifications, and even some major financial relief on testing costs—all designed to help you support children with disabilities, ages 3–5.

Save money on exams: Thanks to House Bill 2, first-time test takers for Special Education or Bilingual Education certifications get their exam and application fees waived. That’s right—$0 out of pocket. For this grant, reimbursement is still available if you’re tackling the Early Childhood: PK–3 (292) test.
