Get ready to dig for gold, San Antonio style. The Great Junk Hunt is rolling into town September 12-13 with over 70,000 square feet of vintage treasures, upcycled gems, and one-of-a-kind finds that’ll make your home the envy of every Pinterest board.

This isn’t your grandmother’s antique show (though she’d probably love it). Think live music, craft cocktails, and vendor displays so inspiring you’ll want to redecorate your entire house before you even get home.

The Story Behind the Hunt

Linda Albers turned a family obsession into a nationwide treasure-hunting adventure. Growing up watching her mom flip thrift store finds at garage sales, Linda caught what she calls “the junkin’ bug” early. After years running her own brick-and-mortar antique store, she craved freedom—freedom to hit the road, hunt for treasures, and create something bigger.

So in 2009, she teamed up with her sister to form the Funky Junk Sisters and launched what’s now The Great Junk Hunt. Starting in Puyallup, Washington, Linda now travels the country with a vintage trailer in tow, bringing her unique flea market experience to treasure hunters everywhere.

Her design portfolio includes major events like Coachella, Stagecoach, and Desert Trip Music Festivals, proving that good junk hunting skills translate into serious style credibility.

What Makes This Hunt Different

This isn’t just about buying old stuff—it’s about discovering pieces with stories, character, and the kind of charm you can’t order online. The vendors bring their A-game with displays designed to inspire, featuring everything from rustic farmhouse finds to sleek industrial pieces and quirky vintage treasures.

You’ll find furniture begging for a second chance, décor pieces that’ll become conversation starters, and those perfect finishing touches that transform a house into a home. Plus, the atmosphere combines serious treasure hunting with a fun, social experience that includes live entertainment and adult beverages.

Pro Tips for Maximum Treasure Success

Bring a wagon or cart—you’re going to find more than you planned. Wear comfortable shoes because you’ll want to explore every corner of those 70,000 square feet. Come with measurements of spaces you’re trying to fill, but stay open to unexpected discoveries that change your entire vision.

Most importantly, trust your instincts. That piece calling your name might be exactly what your space needs, even if you hadn’t thought of it before.
