Your little one runs around the house with a towel tied around their neck, pretending to fly. This Tuesday, they can meet the real superheroes.

Superman and Superwoman are landing at Discovery Green on Tuesday, October 28. Your toddler gets two hours of interactive story time, character meet-and-greets, crafts, and soft play equipment—all completely free. This isn’t just another morning at home watching cartoons. This is the morning your child will talk about for weeks.

More Than Just a Character Meet-and-Greet

This isn’t a quick photo-op where you wait in line for three seconds with a character who barely waves. Your toddler gets two full hours of activities designed specifically for their age group.

The morning kicks off with interactive story time featuring “Even Superheroes Have Bad Days” and “Even Superheroes Get Scared” by Shelly Becker—perfect books that help toddlers understand big feelings through their favorite heroes. Then comes the real excitement—Superman and Superwoman appear for hugs, high-fives, and those photos you’ll treasure forever. While you’re there, your child can dive into themed crafts that spark creativity and imagination.

Toddler Towns brings their signature soft play equipment, so your energetic little one can climb, bounce, and explore safely. The Collaborative for Children’s Collab Lab adds hands-on activities that sneak learning into playtime.

Why Tuesday Mornings Work for Parents

You know those mornings when you need to get your toddler out of the house before you both lose your minds? Tuesday mornings at Discovery Green solve that problem every single week.

The event runs from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.—perfectly timed to tire them out before lunch and naptime. Pack a snack, bring a water bottle, and let Discovery Green’s team entertain your child while you chat with other parents on the veranda.

And here’s the best part: Halloween costumes are encouraged. Since this falls right before Halloween, your toddler can show up dressed as their favorite superhero and fit right in with the crowd. Superman, Wonder Woman, Spider-Man, Captain America—any hero they love works perfectly.

Free Fun in the Heart of Downtown Houston

Discovery Green sits in downtown Houston as a 12-acre oasis where families gather without spending a dime. The park remains open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., but Toddler Tuesdays happen every week with different themes and characters.

Park under the Jones Lawn in the Convention District Garage for easy access. Restrooms with family changing areas stay open throughout the event. The Cullen Veranda on the south side of Lake House Cafe hosts the activities, with plenty of shade for hot Texas mornings.

Bring a blanket if you want to relax on the lawn nearby. Let your toddler experience what makes Houston special—free, accessible events that bring families together in beautiful outdoor spaces.
