WASHINGTON — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced this week the arrests of five men, each previously convicted of serious crimes in the United States, as part of the agency’s ongoing enforcement operations targeting immigrants without legal status who have criminal records.

According to ICE, the individuals arrested include a Texas case handled by the Dallas field office. Mor Lo, a Senegalese national, was arrested by ICE Dallas following convictions for assault, sale and distribution of heroin, unlawful possession of a firearm, criminal trespass, and trademark counterfeiting, the agency said.

The other four arrests announced by ICE took place in states across the country. According to the agency:

Jesus Urquilla-Guevara, a Salvadoran national, was arrested following a murder conviction in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

Sallieu Mansaray, a national of Sierra Leone, was arrested following a conviction for assault causing serious injury in Staten Island, New York.

Jose Luis Arroyo-Garcia, a Mexican national, was arrested following four convictions for drug trafficking in Franklin County, Ohio.

Luis Reyes-Portillo, a Guatemalan national, was arrested following a conviction for dealing cocaine in Franklin, Indiana.

ICE did not release additional details about the dates of the underlying convictions, the sentences served, or the current custody status of the individuals.

“Just yesterday, ICE arrested murderers, violent assailants, drug traffickers, and other criminal illegal aliens from American communities,” Acting Assistant DHS Secretary Lauren Bis said in a statement. “Thanks to reckless open border policies, too many Americans have been harmed by criminal illegal aliens. Under President Trump and Secretary Mullin, we will never give up our mission to protect innocent Americans from these criminal illegal aliens who should have never been in our country in the first place.”

Anyone with information about criminal activity involving immigration violations can report tips to ICE by calling 1-866-347-2423.
