The Statler Hotel
According to its website, The Statler’s part of the Historic Hotels of America® program and is a celebrated landmark in Dallas’ architectural and cultural history. Opened in 1956 as The Statler Hilton, it introduced groundbreaking design innovations by architect William B. Tabler, including a cantilevered flat-slab system and a curtain wall façade of glass and porcelain-coated metal. With 1,001 guest rooms, a rooftop heliport, and a ballroom for 2,200 guests, it was the largest and most modern hotel in the South at the time.
Known for industry firsts like elevator music and in-room TVs, The Statler played a pivotal role in establishing Dallas as a convention hub. After extensive renovations, it reopened as The Statler Hotel & Residences under Hilton’s Curio Collection, blending history with modern luxury. Today, it features 159 hotel rooms, 219 apartments, event spaces, retail, offices, and dining options, making it a vibrant destination in the heart of Dallas.
This Thanksgiving, The Statler once again promises to offer a meal and a moment of appreciation to those who give so much to our Texas communities.
