Dino-bility Day at Dinosaur Valley State Park makes the outdoors accessible for all families

Most outdoor events talk about inclusion but don’t actually deliver it. On November 8, Texas Parks & Wildlife is doing something different at Dinosaur Valley State Park – creating a celebration where every family, regardless of abilities, can truly enjoy nature together.

This isn’t just another park event with a few accommodations thrown in. Dino-bility Day is specifically designed from the ground up to empower individuals with disabilities to explore the outdoors in a supportive and welcoming environment.

What Makes This Day Special

While other families worry about whether their kids can participate, you’ll spend November 8 knowing that every activity is designed with everyone in mind. This family-friendly celebration runs from 10 AM to 2 PM and proves that nature really is for everyone.

What your family will experience:

  • Adaptive outdoor activities including accessible hiking and sensory-friendly programs
  • Resource fair featuring DFW-area organizations sharing services, equipment, and programs that support inclusive recreation
  • Family fun activities with nature crafts, educational exhibits, and engaging activities designed for all ages and abilities
  • Real dinosaur tracks – because you’re still at one of Texas’s coolest state parks

Why This Matters Right Now

Finding outdoor activities where every family member can participate isn’t just difficult – it’s often impossible. Dino-bility Day changes that by highlighting the importance of accessibility in nature and showcasing organizations across Texas doing incredible work to make recreation inclusive.

This event connects families with resources they might not even know exist, while giving kids of all abilities the chance to explore, learn, and have fun together.

Perfect for Your Family

Whether you’re looking for adaptive equipment, want to connect with other families, or simply want to enjoy a day where inclusion isn’t an afterthought but the main focus, this event delivers. The combination of dinosaur tracks, hands-on activities, and genuine accessibility makes this a win for everyone.

When: Saturday, November 8, 2025
Time: 10 AM – 2 PM
Where: Dinosaur Valley State Park, Glen Rose, TX
Address: 1629 Park Road 59, Glen Rose, TX 76043

Get Involved Beyond Attending

This event needs community support to succeed:

  • Volunteer to help make the day amazing for everyone
  • Host a resource booth if your organization supports inclusive recreation
  • Spread the word to families who could benefit

Your November Adventure

Dinosaur Valley State Park is already an incredible destination where you can see real dinosaur tracks preserved in the riverbed. Add adaptive programming, inclusive activities, and a community celebrating accessibility, and you’ve got something truly special.

This isn’t about feeling good for showing up – it’s about experiencing what outdoor recreation looks like when it’s designed for everyone from day one.

Ready to be part of something meaningful? Mark your calendar for November 8 and prepare to see nature through a whole new lens.
