AUSTIN — Texas Secretary of State Jane Nelson announced Thursday the completion of the statewide rollout of Texas Express, the office’s expedited business filing program, which is now available for every type of business filing handled by the Secretary of State’s office.
According to Nelson’s office, Texas Express launched in September 2025 with expedited processing available for a limited number of filing types, then expanded in April 2026 to include business formations and additional registration services. As of Thursday, all business filings handled by the office are eligible for Texas Express expedited processing.
More than 2,600 filings processed and a record 3 million active entities
Since Texas Express launched, the Secretary of State’s office has processed more than 2,600 expedited filings, according to Nelson’s office. The department said the strong demand reflects the value of the program to the Texas business community.
The Office of the Secretary of State now serves more than 3 million active business entities in Texas — a record for the state — while continuing to process filings accurately and efficiently, according to Nelson’s office.
“Texas has become the premier destination for businesses because we are committed to creating an environment where companies can succeed,” Nelson said in a statement. “As more businesses choose to organize or relocate to Texas, our office is committed to providing the fast, reliable service they expect. Texas Express allows businesses to move at the speed of today’s economy.”
“Texas Express has exceeded our expectations,” Nelson added in the announcement. “Businesses have embraced the program because they understand that time matters. Whether you are a first-time entrepreneur forming your company or a Fortune 500 corporation completing a major transaction, Texas Express gives customers the option to receive the level of service they need.”
The three tiers of Texas Express service
According to the Secretary of State’s office, Texas Express offers three levels of expedited service. Fees are in addition to the applicable filing fee for each document.
Same-Day Service — Filings received by 12:00 p.m. are processed by the close of business the same day. Expedite fee: $750 per document.
Next-Day Service — Filings received by 12:00 p.m. are processed by the close of business the next business day. Expedite fee: $500 per document.
Standard Expedited Service — Filings are processed ahead of regular submissions, typically within two to three business days. Expedite fee: $50 per document.
How to submit
According to Nelson’s office, same-day and next-day filing services are available for documents submitted through Texas Express email, in person, or by courier. Standard expedited processing is available for documents submitted by mail, in person, or by courier. The office strongly encourages preclearance review for all same-day and next-day filings to reduce the risk of rejection.
Broader modernization effort
According to Nelson’s office, Texas Express is part of the agency’s broader modernization effort, which is focused on improving customer service, increasing efficiency, and reducing administrative burdens for Texans. The Secretary of State’s office serves as the state’s official filing authority for corporations, LLCs, limited partnerships, nonprofit organizations, and other business entities.
