  • All 17 state constitutional amendments pass
Texans overwhelmingly approved every amendment on the ballot, including measures that aim to boost water infrastructure funding, expand homestead tax exemptions, and restrict future tax creation. These results reflect broad voter support for structural and tax-related changes across the state.
  • Congressional race in Houston heads to runoff
In the special election for the U.S. House seat in Texas’s 18th District, no candidate achieved a majority, sending the top two vote-getters—a county attorney and a former city council member—to a December runoff.
  • Major school bond passed in San Antonio ISD district
Voters in the North East Independent School District approved most of a $495 million bond package, backing improvements spanning HVAC systems, buses, and classroom tech while rejecting smaller stadium and pool renovations.
  • H-E-B breaks ground on new store near I-35 in San Marcos
The grocery chain began construction of a 114,000-square-foot “mega store” on the east side of San Marcos, projected to bring 600 jobs and several shopping and dining amenities when it opens in late 2026.
