WASHINGTON — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced this week the arrests of 10 individuals across the country over two consecutive days of operations, each previously convicted of serious crimes in the United States, including three arrests in Texas, according to the agency.

According to ICE, the individuals arrested include those with convictions for manslaughter, human trafficking of a minor, child pornography, rape, drug trafficking, and other offenses. The arrests took place in Texas, California, Utah, Delaware, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and New York.

Texas cases

According to the agency, three of the ten arrests took place in Texas.

Emanuel De Jesus Arroyo-Aviles, a Mexican national, arrested following a conviction for smuggling of person with intent to flee in Eagle Pass, Texas.

Luis Fernando Preciado-Lopez, a Guatemalan national, arrested following convictions for assault, alien smuggling, sale of cocaine, and obstruction of police in Houston, Texas.

Victor Gonzalez-Ibarra, a Mexican national, arrested following convictions for conspiracy to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine and possessing/carrying a firearm during and in relation to a drug trafficking crime in San Antonio, Texas.

Out-of-state arrests

According to the agency, the other seven arrests took place in California, Utah, Delaware, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and New York.

Juan Manuel Curiel-Banuelos, a Mexican national, arrested following a conviction for human trafficking of a minor for a commercial sex act in Ventura, California.

Nalesh Prasad, a Fijian national, arrested following a conviction for rape with force or violence in Sacramento, California.

Miguel Munoz-Lara, a Mexican national, arrested following convictions for attempted forcible sodomy and forcible sexual abuse in Salt Lake County, Utah.

Alexander Vasquez-Valentin, a Mexican national, arrested following a conviction for possession with intent to distribute a Schedule I/II narcotic in Sussex County, Delaware.

Angel Luis Rodriguez-Hidalgo, a Cuban national, arrested following convictions for manslaughter with use of a deadly weapon and identity theft in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Deepak Ratnala, an Indian national, arrested following three counts of child pornography convictions in Chester County, Pennsylvania.

Ramsas Solurzano-Martinez, a Mexican national, arrested following a conviction for distribution of methamphetamine in New York, New York.

The agency did not release additional details about the dates of the underlying convictions, sentences served, or the current custody status of the individuals arrested.

Statements from officials

“Just yesterday, ICE arrested child sex traffickers, violent sexual predators, drug traffickers, and other public safety threats who have no business remaining in our country,” Acting Assistant DHS Secretary Lauren Bis said in a statement covering the first day of arrests. “Sanctuary politicians’ anti-ICE rhetoric has contributed to our officers facing a more than 1,300% increase in assaults against them. Despite these smears, ICE will continue to get criminals off our streets. Under President Trump and Secretary Mullin, DHS is putting Americans first.”

In a second statement covering the following day’s arrests, Bis added: “Thanks to the heroic men and women of ICE law enforcement, we are removing murderers, child predators, violent assailants, drug traffickers, and other public safety threats from our communities. ICE is NOT backing down and will continue to remove criminals from our communities. 80% of Americans support the Trump Administration’s commonsense efforts to deport criminal illegal aliens.”
