Weekend Arrests Target 18 Convicted Offenders Across the Country Over July 4th Holiday, ICE Says

WASHINGTON — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced this week the arrests of 18 individuals over the Independence Day holiday weekend, each previously convicted of serious crimes in the United States, as part of the agency’s ongoing enforcement operations targeting immigrants without legal status who have criminal records.

According to ICE, the individuals arrested include those with convictions for murder, kidnapping, sexual exploitation of a minor, drug trafficking, and driving under the influence causing injury. The arrests took place across more than a dozen states. No arrests in this batch were reported in Texas.

According to the agency, the individuals arrested include the following:

Radimir Thompson-Nagle, a Panamanian national, arrested following convictions for murder and assault in Brooklyn, New York.

Marcos Rubio-Hernandez, a Mexican national, arrested following convictions for second-degree murder and kidnapping in Wilson County, North Carolina.

Gabriel Garret Conceicao-E-Conceicao, a Brazilian national, arrested following a conviction for sexual exploitation of a minor in Provo, Utah.

Roberto Gutierrez-Diaz, a Mexican national, arrested following convictions for sodomy and sexual abuse of a victim under 12, attempted rape involving domestic violence, and burglary in Louisville, Kentucky.

Alejandro Botero-Salcedo, a Colombian national, arrested following convictions for sexual intercourse with a minor, communicating with a minor for sexual offenses, and possession of child pornography in Pasadena, California.

Roberto Rivas-Cruz, a Mexican national, arrested following a conviction for lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14 in San Diego, California.

Victor Urbina-Gomez, a Mexican national, arrested following convictions for forcible sexual abuse, two counts of driving under the influence, and disorderly conduct in Salt Lake County, Utah.

Enrique Aranda-Pena, a Mexican national, arrested following convictions for drug-induced sexual assault and aggravated assault in Denver, Colorado.

Hermelindo Sanchez-Atempa, a Mexican national, arrested following convictions for seven counts of possession of methamphetamine, battery of a firefighter or EMT, resisting an officer with violence, assault, disorderly intoxication, indecent exposure, and possession of cocaine in Polk County, Florida.

Oscar Contreras-Mora, a Mexican national, arrested following convictions for aggravated burglary, assault against a police officer, multiple DUIs, and illegal re-entry in Provo, Utah.

Fernando Trujillo-Linares, a Mexican national, arrested following a conviction for driving under the influence causing bodily injury in San Bernardino, California.

Pedro Mazorra-Herrera, a Cuban national, arrested following convictions for aggravated stalking, resisting an officer with violence, burglary with assault or battery, and cocaine possession in Miami, Florida.

Marbin Alexander Ramirez-Rodas, a Salvadoran national, arrested following convictions for drug trafficking, possession of a firearm as a felon, domestic battery, reckless driving, and illegal re-entry in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Francisco Olmedo-Silva, a Mexican national, arrested following convictions for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and heroin, conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute heroin, escape from custody, and robbery, in cases spanning Oregon, Wyoming, and Pennsylvania.

Elmer Itzar Rodriguez-Rivera, a Mexican national, arrested following convictions for threatening a crime with intent to terrorize, assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily injury, and illegal re-entry in Redwood City, California.

Miguel Veras-Martes, a national of the Dominican Republic, arrested following convictions for manufacturing with intent to distribute a controlled substance, receiving stolen property, obstructing police, and possession of a stolen vehicle in Providence, Rhode Island.

William Hernandez-Mosquera, a Colombian national, arrested following convictions for conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine and 100 kilograms or more of marijuana, in the Middle District of Florida.

Victor Manuel Rodriguez-Magallanes, a Mexican national, arrested following convictions for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession of a firearm in West Valley, Utah.

Elio Arturo Rodriguez-Mendez, a Cuban national, arrested following convictions for fraud, wire fraud, and larceny in Lebanon, Tennessee.

The agency did not release additional details about the dates of the underlying convictions, sentences served, or the current custody status of the individuals arrested.

“While Americans celebrated the 250th anniversary of the greatest nation on earth, the brave men and women of ICE were arresting the worst of the worst, including multiple murderers, pedophiles, rapists, kidnappers, drunk drivers, drug traffickers, and other dangerous public safety threats,” Acting Assistant DHS Secretary Lauren Bis said in a statement. “Our law enforcement officers work around the clock even on holidays to make our communities safer. Thanks to President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill, we have an additional 12,000 ICE officers who will continue delivering on the American people’s mandate to make our nation SAFE AGAIN.”
