You Can Drive a Ferrari on the Same Track as Formula 1 — And It Might Be Your Last Chance

Xtreme Xperience is bringing real supercars to Circuit of the Americas this August and November. This is the bucket list item you didn’t know you needed.

Forget the test drive at the dealership. Forget the track day you’ve been meaning to book for ten years. This is the real thing — a Ferrari, a Lamborghini, or a Porsche, on the same 3.4-mile road course where Formula 1 champions have pushed machines to their absolute limits. And you’re the one behind the wheel.

Xtreme Xperience is bringing its supercar driving experience to Circuit of the Americas in Austin for two final events this year: August 13–15 and November 18–20, 2026. If you’ve ever dreamed about what it would feel like to actually drive one of these machines — not just ride in one, not watch from the stands, but put your hands on the wheel and feel it — this is your moment.

Why COTA and Why Now

Circuit of the Americas is the only FIA Grade 1 circuit in the United States. It has hosted Formula 1, MotoGP, NASCAR, IndyCar, and X Games. The elevation changes, the legendary uphill charge into Turn 1, the long back straight — this is not a parking lot autocross. This is a world-class racing venue that most people will never set foot on, much less drive.

Here’s what makes this even more urgent: COTA is transitioning to a private members-only track. These August and November events are the final public-facing opportunities to get behind the wheel here. After this, the gates close to the public for good. These are your last two chances.

What You Actually Do

You show up, you get a 25-minute safety and driving briefing with a professional instructor, and then you get in the car. A professional driving instructor sits in the passenger seat and coaches you through every turn, braking zone, and straightaway as you push through two full laps on the circuit. You get a racing helmet. You get cold water and energy drinks in the pit area. And you get the kind of story you’ll be telling for the rest of your life.

If you want to ease into it first, the Hellcat Charger ride-along lets you ride shotgun with a pro at full speed before your own drive — a perfect way to learn the racing line before you take the wheel yourself.

Your Car Options

Starting at $79 for the Hellcat Charger ride-along and scaling up through seven supercar options, here’s what’s available at COTA:

Nissan GT-R — starting at $539 Corvette C8 Z06 — starting at $589 Porsche Cayman GT4 RS — starting at $589 Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 — starting at $639 Ferrari 488 GTB — starting at $639 Porsche 911 GT3 — starting at $639 Ferrari 296 GTB — starting at $679

Yes, COTA is priced higher than other Xtreme Xperience events — because it costs significantly more to operate on an FIA Grade 1 circuit. But nowhere else in the world will you get public access to drive a supercar on this track. That’s not a marketing line. That’s just true.

A driver protection plan is required starting at $39. Payment plans are available through PayPal.

What to Bring and What to Expect

Plan to spend about two hours at the track from check-in through checkout. Bring a valid physical driver’s license, your confirmation number, and completed digital waivers. Wear closed-toe shoes — no sandals, no flip-flops. You’ll want clothes you can move comfortably in.

The pit area has shaded tents and waiting spaces, so bring the family, bring a friend to cheer you on, and make a day of it. Austin is 20 minutes away. San Antonio is about an hour and 20 minutes.

Don’t Wait on This One

With more than 25,000 verified five-star reviews nationwide and two dates left at COTA forever, spots will not last. Sunday drives get 20 percent off with code SUNDAY at checkout.

Event Dates: August 13–15 and November 18–20, 2026 Location: Circuit of the Americas, 9201 Circuit of the Americas Blvd, Austin, TX 78617 Book now: thextremexperience.com/tracks/cota Phone: (866) 273-7727 Instagram: @xtremexperience
