Ready to get your little ones moving and grooving? The Beckles Dancing Company is bringing world-class dance instruction straight to South Dallas, and they’re not charging families a dime.

Starting today (September 3rd) and running through December 10th, professional dancers will teach your children modern, jazz, and African dance styles every Wednesday from 4:00 to 5:00 PM. These aren’t amateur volunteers – we’re talking about trained professionals from a respected dance company who usually charge premium rates for private lessons.

What Your Kids Will Learn

Your children will dive into three exciting dance styles that build confidence, coordination, and creativity:

  • Modern dance – flowing, expressive movements that help kids connect with their emotions
  • Jazz dance – high-energy routines with sharp, dynamic moves that’ll have them feeling like Broadway stars
  • African dance – traditional rhythms and movements that celebrate rich cultural heritage

The program targets kids ages 5-10, so whether you’ve got a kindergartner who can’t sit still or a fourth-grader looking for a new after-school activity, this fits perfectly.

Why This Matters for Your Family

Dance classes typically cost $60-100 per month in the Dallas area. This program eliminates that financial barrier completely. Your kids get professional instruction, learn discipline and teamwork, stay active, and build self-confidence – all while you keep that money in your wallet.

Plus, these classes happen right after school ends, making pickup and drop-off manageable for working parents. One hour is just enough time for kids to learn and have fun without getting overwhelmed or cranky.

Here’s What You Need to Know

When: Every Wednesday, September 3 – December 10, 4:00-5:00 PM
Where: South Dallas Cultural Center, 3400 Fitzhugh Ave, Dallas
Cost: Completely free
Ages: 5-10 years old
Registration: Required at becklesdancingco.org

The program is a collaboration between the Beckles Dancing Company, the Dance Council of North Texas, and the South Dallas Cultural Center. That’s serious backing from established arts organizations.

Don’t Wait – Spots Fill Fast

Free professional instruction doesn’t come around often. Classes start today, so you’ll want to register immediately to secure your child’s spot.

For questions or more information, contact Dedra Brent at [email protected] or visit www.BecklesDancingCo.org.

Pro tip: Follow them on social media to see videos of what your kids will be learning and get updates on future programs.

Your kids are going to love this. Wednesday afternoons just got a whole lot more exciting in your household.
