Global performers, flying motorcycles, fire-breathing stilt walkers, roller-skating troupes, audience dance parties, and a message of unity — running July 17 through August 2 at Sam Houston Race Park, with kids free opening weekend

Opening weekend: Friday, July 17 through Sunday, July 19, 2026, with kids free using promo code KIDS FREE on the UniverSoul Circus website. Full run: July 17 through August 2 at Sam Houston Race Park, 7575 N. Sam Houston Pkwy W, Houston, TX 77064. Tickets start at $25 before fees at UniverSoulCircus.com or Ticketmaster.

Well neighbor, if you’ve been looking for the one summer outing that’ll pull the whole family off the couch, gather round because Houston is about to be host to something genuinely special. UniverSoul Circus, one of the most beloved family shows in America for more than 30 years, is bringing its all-new production WE ALL BELONG to Sam Houston Race Park for a full three-week run beginning Friday, July 17. This is the Texas debut of the new show, and the opening weekend comes with a kids-free deal that makes it just about the best value in family entertainment this summer.

About the show

UniverSoul Circus is not your typical circus. Founded in 1994 by former Motown and rap executive Cedric Walker, the show has built its 30-plus-year reputation on blending world-class circus arts with music, dance, comedy, and a level of audience participation that makes you part of the show. This year’s production, WE ALL BELONG, draws its inspiration from the Harlem Renaissance, Motown, Soul Train, and hip hop culture, and turns the big top into a rolling celebration of what connects people rather than what divides them.

Under the tent, expect to see flying motorcycles, fire-breathing stilt walkers, an elite roller-skating troupe, jaw-dropping acrobatics, contortionists, and a charismatic ringmaster who works the crowd from the first minute to the last. Every performance also includes audience dance parties — moments where the whole tent gets up and moves together, no matter your age or your zip code. The show runs about 90 minutes to two and a half hours with an intermission, and it’s designed to be family-friendly from beginning to end.

“The goal is simple,” Walker said in the show’s announcement. “In a world where people often focus on differences, WE ALL BELONG reminds us that music, movement, laughter, culture and human connection blur the lines between us and explore the point where cultures meet and ultimately unite through joy, rhythm and shared experience.”

Opening weekend kids-free deal

Here’s the news to circle in red. For the opening weekend of Friday, July 17 through Sunday, July 19, UniverSoul is running a kids-free promotion using promo code KIDSFREE on the UniverSoul Circus website. That means when you buy one adult ticket, one child gets in free — the perfect chance to bring the whole family under the big top without stretching the summer budget. The promotion applies to a select number of seats and runs while supplies last, so this is one of those “book it now, thank yourself later” moments.

Regular tickets across the run start at $25 before fees, with tickets available through UniverSoulCircus.com or Ticketmaster. A quick heads-up — every guest 12 months and older needs a ticket, but babies under 12 months can enter free as long as they sit on a lap. No outside toys or strollers permitted inside the tent.

Look for the show before the show

Here’s a fun detail that sets UniverSoul apart from other touring productions. The company is bringing its “The City Is The Stage” community initiative to Houston, which means pop-up performances and community appearances scattered around town in the weeks leading up to opening. If you spot a stilt walker on a Houston street corner or a burst of live percussion in an unexpected place this month, that’s the circus coming to you. Keep an eye on UniverSoul’s social channels for surprise appearances.

Getting there and knowing what to expect

Sam Houston Race Park is located at 7575 N. Sam Houston Pkwy W in northwest Houston, off Beltway 8. Doors typically open about an hour before showtime — plan to arrive at least 30 to 60 minutes early to find parking, get settled, and let the kids soak in the pre-show atmosphere. Between the food vendors, the light-up souvenirs, and the buzz of an audience anticipating showtime, half the fun begins before the ringmaster ever walks out.

Why this one is worth the trip

Here’s the honest truth, neighbor. In a summer full of Fourth of July celebrations, county fairs, and backyard cookouts, a real circus under a real big top is a rare and beautiful thing. UniverSoul isn’t just a show your kids will love — it’s a show that pulls the grown-ups in too. The music is real music, the performers are world-class, and the message underneath it all — that music, dance, and laughter connect us across cultures — is one worth spending a couple of hours celebrating with your family.

The run is only three weeks. The kids-free deal is only three days. Grab your tickets, round up the family, and head to Sam Houston Race Park this July. Sing along, dance in the aisles, cheer for the performers, and let yourselves be part of the show.

For tickets, showtimes, and updates, visit UniverSoulCircus.com or Ticketmaster. See you under the big top, neighbor.
