This one-of-a-kind exhibit celebrates the 2026 FIFA World Cup with more than 60 historic maps representing the participating nations — spanning six centuries and nine different languages. While you’re there, you can also explore photographs and artifacts from the 1994 World Cup matches right here in Dallas, blending sports history, global culture, and beautiful old cartography. It’s free and open to the public, and there are even limited giveaway items while supplies last. Soccer fan or map lover, this is a treat.
Texas Authors Book Club: “Giant” — Thursday, June 18, 6:30–7:30 p.m., Fielder Museum
Everything’s bigger in Texas, including this month’s read. The Texas Authors Book Club digs into “Giant” by Edna Ferber, the sweeping novel that inspired the classic film starring James Dean, Elizabeth Taylor, and Rock Hudson. Presented in partnership with the Arlington Historical Society, the club brings readers together to explore the Texas books — classic and contemporary — that shaped the state’s story. Come for a lively discussion and a little literary pride.

The performances kick off at 6 p.m. with the National Anthem and Black National Anthem by the Levitt Youth Spotlight, followed by Branoofunck at 7 p.m. and headliner 4Ya Soul Band at 8:30 p.m. bringing the hip-hop, R&B, and soul. While you soak up the music, wander the food trucks and vendor booths for everything from BBQ and fresh lemonade to handmade goods and local art. It’s a full festival night for all ages — bring the whole family.
